OUR TEAM

The founders of this organization are two physicians and a lawyer dedicated to reproductive rights and health care.  Dr. Linda Prine and Dr. Maggie Carpenter have provided reproductive health care and advocacy, including abortion services, for decades, while human rights attorney Julie F. Kay has litigated and written about reproductive freedom in the US and worldwide.  Click here for more information about our team.

Julie F Kay Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine

Executive Director & Founder

Julie is well-known as a litigator and a voice for using law to promote abortion rights and gender equity in the US and internationally. She was the lead attorney who designed and litigated the landmark abortion rights case ABC v. Ireland before the European Court of Human Rights which helped lay the groundwork for legalization of abortion in Ireland. Kay is the co-author with Kathryn Kolbert of Controlling Women: What We Must Do Now to Save Reproductive

Freedom.  An experienced and passionate advocate for equality, she also develops innovative legal and policy reforms to protect the parenting rights of people leaving ultra-religious communities.

Dr Maggie Carpenter Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine

A family doctor with over 20 years of experience and many interests, Maggie got her BA in Russian Studies from Brown University before graduating summa cum laude from SUNY-Downstate Medical School. She completed her family practice residency at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. Before settling in the Hudson Valley, Dr. Carpenter lived and worked in Lawrence, Kansas, Wairoa, New Zealand and Brooklyn, New York. Maggie specializes in reproductive health as well as palliative care. Her passion for global health led her to start Go Doc Go in 2013, a not for profit focused on preventing cervical cancer around the world (www.godocgo.org) Maggie has worked in Reproductive Health since her undergraduate days volunteering at Planned Parenthood. She has provided medical and surgical abortions since 1999. She started working with Aid Access in 2020 and helped launch Hey Jane in December 2020 and continues to work with both organizations.

Co-Medical Director & Founder

Linda Prine is a professor of Family and Community Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in NYC. She was a co-founder of the Reproductive Health Access Project, the RHAP Fellowship, the Access list, the Reproductive Health MIG of the AAFP and the Miscarriage and Abortion Hotline (M&AHotline). She serves on the leadership group of the M+A Hotline and works as a medication abortion provider for Aid Access. She most recently co-founded and serves as the Co-Medical Director of the ACT. In all of these capacities, she has been a leader for full-spectrum reproductive health care: the integration of abortion, miscarriage and contraceptive care into mainstream medical care with universal access for all through Medicare for All health care reform.

A tech savvy Creative Director with a multicultural upbringing. Alex studied International Development Studies at McGill, followed by filmmaking in NYC. She worked for Disney, Sony Pictures, & HBO before starting her own journey as a filmmaker, web designer & marketer. Over the last decade, Alex has designed websites worldwide incorporating marketing strategies, leading film crews across continents, as well as shooting, editing & designing digital content & documentaries. She recently served as Head of Tech & International Marketing Design Strategist for an eco-conscious educational safari company in East Africa.

Faith Daniels The Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine

Faith Daniel, MPH, is ACTs Operations Manager and Project Manager for the Hospital Equity and Accountability Project at Community Catalyst. She received a Master's in Public Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and is pursing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree from New York Univeristy in Fall 2023. A Bronx native and daughter of immigrants, Faith is a fierce advocate for reproductive justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, and health equity.
